Our Saturday allowed for some sleeping in as we didn't assemble at the Church till 1:00pm. Youth activities included Japanese writing and Origami lessons. This was followed by a scavenger hunt and some shopping time. The Church supplied dinner consisting of hotdogs and chips for some back home tastes. We went on a walk along the river before Church started. Mr. Caswell and Mrs. Bunkowski led in worship with our own WRCA worship band. Mr. Zacharias and the Drime teams performed excellently. Pastor Fast then introduced Mr. Michel who announced that WRCA was going to be giving out a missions trip scholarship each year. The name of the scholarship would be called The Fast Scholarship in honour of Pastor Elwyn Fast and his wife Bonnie, his brother Darryl Fast and wife Stephanie as Darryl was WRCA's first Principal, and Marvin and Ilene Fast who were the founding missionaries in Japan in connection with WRCA's home church. The Fasts felt so honoured to have that scholarship in their family's name.
Mr. Lukacin and Mrs. Bunkowski presented New Life Church with the gift of $720 raised from the Gr 9 Bake Sale!
Mr. Michel gave a great sermon encouraging us all to have less of ourselves and more of God in our lives. This was the first time in church for many of the Chukyo students... and so their journey towards salvation begins...
After Church there was some fellowship time with snacks and the students headed home with their homestay hosts.
